PlanetScale adds MoveTables CLI commands, deprecates pscale workflow commands

PlanetScale has added MoveTables commands to its pscale CLI for running Vitess workflows, replacing the existing pscale workflow commands. The new branch vtctl move-tables operations include listing workflows across keyspaces, creating a table copy in a target keyspace, checking copy progress and which keyspace serves traffic, and pausing or resuming work. Separate traffic commands can shift reads and writes to the target keyspace or move them back, while complete and cancel finish or abandon a workflow in progress. PlanetScale recommends verifying data with pscale branch vtctl vdiff before switching traffic; the dashboard’s Workflows page shows live workflow state from Vitess. The company says the old commands and /workflows API endpoints will be deprecated, while the new CLI runs the same MoveTables commands as Vitess through vtctld.
