Palo Alto Networks introduces CLARA Agent for Gemini Enterprise

Palo Alto Networks announced CLARA Agent on September 29, 2026, describing it as a way to query Strata Cloud Manager security information from within Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise. The integration is designed to turn security telemetry into conversational responses, with teams asking questions in ordinary language instead of working through dashboards or running manual queries. Palo Alto Networks says the answers will be immediate and evidence-backed. The company frames the product as a response to security information being held in specialized consoles as cloud workloads and AI deployments expand.

The announced capabilities include discovering infrastructure and identifying both production AI and machine-learning models and unsanctioned shadow AI. CLARA Agent is also designed to rank critical vulnerabilities, giving security teams a view of what is exposed. Palo Alto Networks says the agent will be available through Google Cloud Marketplace, which it describes as a route for customers to deploy and manage the product on Google Cloud infrastructure. The announcement does not describe a separate interface for these queries; it places them inside Gemini Enterprise.

Strata Cloud Manager supplies the security information behind the integration. Palo Alto Networks says the platform brings security across environments together, automates AI-driven operations to help prevent misconfigurations, and enforces zero-trust policies with real-time threat prevention. The company says the agent extends existing Strata Cloud Manager telemetry into everyday workflows. It also says new, or greenfield, deployments can gain visibility into AI and non-AI workloads.

For AI builders, the announcement points to conversational access to cloud posture and vulnerability information as AI adoption accelerates. CLARA Agent uses the open Agent-to-Agent protocol and Model Context Protocol servers, and Palo Alto Networks says it does not require additional infrastructure setup. The company lists auditing cloud posture, prioritizing zero-day vulnerabilities, and securing rapid AI adoption among the integration’s intended uses.
